Abstract

The article focuses on the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care's (ACSQHC) national Tall Man lettering project that aims to prevent medication errors. Tall Man lettering utilizes selective capitalisation to aid differentiate, and thus reduce confusion, between similar-looking drug names like Dilaudid and Dilantin. The project considered 250 name pairs utilizing a risk matrix based on the likelihood of confusion and the potential severity of the results of any confusion.
