Abstract

The article offers a study of the range sizes and locations of resident Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins (Sousa chinensis) in Xiamen, China. It says that mean range sizes are 95% kernel and 50% kernel, and home ranges concentrated around the Tongan Bay and Jiulong River Estuary. It adds that there is significant range among dolphins with more partners, and a significant smaller minimum convex polygon (MCP) range sizes and linear distances among those with high coefficients of association (COA).
