Abstract

The article discusses a study regarding the preliminary validation of column-averaged volume mixing ratios of carbon dioxide and methane retrieved from Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) Short-Wavelength InfraRed spectra (GOSAT SWIR X<subscript>CO2</subscript> and X<subscript>CH4</subscript>). The study compares the spectra's data with high-resolution Fourier Transform Spectrometers (g-b FTSs). It reveals that latitudinal distributions of zonal means of the spectra show similar features to g-b FTS data.
