Abstract
- This paper focuses on the ideational function of language and the TRANSITIVITY system of Persian and attempts to give, in general, a functional description of the grammar of the clause as representation and to identify, in particular, different process types and participant roles in Persian. In the identification of the characteristics of Persian experiential grammar, this paper will further focus on the verbal morphology and describe its role in the recognition of different participants in various process types by foregrounding the ways through which the Persian clauses represent some kind of bond or agreement between the process and one experiential participant. This co-relation between the verbal group and the experiential participant will also be illustrated in terms of voice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
