Abstract
- The article presents chapter IV of the book "Marvels of Man's Making." It discusses the construction of a bridge for a railway train 400 yards below the Victoria Falls by Rhodesian Railway Co. engineer Charles Metcalf. It says that the construction of the arch-shaped bridge started in October 1904. It states the challenges encountered in constructing the bridge including the climate and difficulty to bring the materials to the spot. It also mentions that the bridge was launched in August 1905.
