Abstract: The article focuses on the Legacy Atmospheric Sounding Dataset Project in which data from weather observations and research are captured for archival purposes. Information is provided on the ways in which archival recordings are made, which include 9-track magnetic tapes, microfiche, and print. It is noted that the National Center for U.S. Atmospheric Research (NCAR) maintains an Internet accessible archive.
