Abstract

The article presents a study on the effects of alkaline deposition on the epiphytic microflora of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) needles. The study used nested analyses of variance to assess the differences between the affected and control area. Results suggest that the isolation frequency Aureobasidium pullulans from phylloplane and the fungal colony forming units (CFU) can be used as biomonitor for air quality monitoring.
