Abstract

The article presents information on a survey conducted in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India to find out the number of ant, Formicidae species present in it. It is discussed that number of ant species present in the islands get doubled to 125, from a previous total of 59 and are belong to 41 genera. It further states that the survey revealed five endemic species but no endemic genera.
