Abstract
- The article focuses on contrasting features of walruses and other pinnipeds. It notes that they have long white tusks, short stiff whiskers, small piglike eyes, unlike other pinnipeds. It discusses the characteristics of walruses which are similar to both seals and sea lions. It informs that hunters used to hunt whales, pinnipeds, and walruses for their oil and their ivory tusks. It discusses how the future of pinnipeds looks much brighter today than it once did.
