Abstract

An implantable sensor of intracranial pressure is described. It measures the difference in pressure between the extradural space and the scalp. This pressure difference modulates the resonant frequency (in the range 7·9-8·6 MHz) of a tuned circuit which can be interrogated by external equipment. The implant is filled with 0·9% sodium chloride solution and made mainly of silicone rubber. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
