Abstract
- The article presents a study on the role of RE2, a fragment of intron 5.2 of the human RUNX1 gene, in transcription activation as a nuclear matrix attachment region or tissue-specific enhancer. The study used electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) to analyze the tissue-specific regulatory activity of the intron 5.2 fragment. Results showed that RE2 is not a nuclear matrix attachment region but is neither a silencer nor enhancer.
