Abstract

The article considers the roles of information resources management and analysis of information in overall corporate or organizational decision-making. A survey of employees at international business enterprises on their decision-making processes is discussed in which it was found that a minority of employees and only half of senior executives successfully balanced the analysis of information with their own judgment. Problems facing corporations related to information resources are examined including the relatively few employees with data analytic skills, the lack of a coherent organizational structure for data created by organizations and a lack of experience by executives in managing information. INSET: WHAT'S YOUR DECISION-MAKING STYLE?.
