Abstract
- The first paper in this issue of Language Teaching Research deals with the zone of proximal development (ZPD) concept. Nassaji and Cumming argue that since its appearance in the work of Vygotsky, the ZPD concept has remained largely unexplored. Their paper attempts to change this state of affairs by looking at a set of interactive dialogue journals, produced by a six-year-old learner of English interacting with his teacher.
