Abstract
- The article discusses the problems of improving fertility of African agricultural soil to produce more for its growing population. Accordingly, chief executive Dennis Garrity of the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) has said that African farmers need to revitalize their soils but lack the knowledge to do it. Agricultural experts are promoting the use of fertilizers and soil nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus to enhance the organic matter-deficient soil in many parts of Africa.
