Abstract
- The problem of the transient interaction of plane pulse waves and an elastic spherical shell is solved exactly within the scope of linear acoustic and thin shell theories and within the limit of series solution. Detailed numerical results for the transient and vibratory responses of the shell are presented, and some interesting features of the transient wave shell interaction are revealed.
