Abstract

The article reports on research conducted to compare myostatin gene expression in postmenopausal women who were and were not taking hormone therapy after eccentric exercise. Researchers evaluated 14 women. They found that postmenopausal women using hormone therapy express greater myostatin related gene expression and that women using hormone therapy experienced a greater myostatin related response to maximal eccentric exercise.
