Abstract

The paper presents the application of advanced mechanical testing methods for determining the bone mechanical properties. Research were conducted using the compression test with the Digital Image Correlation system for displacement and strain measurements. Additionally the FE numerical model was build on the base of scans from X-ray micro-computed tomography (XMT) using the specialized software. The non-homogenous material properties were assumed. Simulation were performed using the MSC.Nastran solver. Finally, results from experiment were compared with numerical calculations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
