Abstract
- The article discusses a pilot study of Dignity Therapy, which is palliative care psychotherapy to reduce psychological and spiritual distress in older people in care homes. The study reports the outcome of the therapy, including its potential effectiveness, acceptability and feasibility. Results reveal that though the therapy did not influence distress directly, it enhanced end-of-life experience for patients and their families. A range of effective interventional strategies is recommended.
