Abstract

The article explores the concomitant presence of langerhans cells histiocytosis (LCH) and a myeloid sarcoma (MS) characterized by the existence of trisomy 8. It notes that the cytogenetic abnormality, trisomy 8, could be recurrently linked to the development of MS. It analyzes a case on the clonality of LCH basing from the X-chromosomal inactivation mosaicism in somatic tissues and polymorphism of the androgen receptor gene in female patients.
