Abstract

The article discusses the results of randomized controlled trials (RCT) on autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) published in 2011. One study revealed the benefit of ASCT to patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) after chemotherapy. Another study explored the effectiveness of drugs in treating disseminated intravascular coagulation in leukemia patients. Also explained is the effect of colony-stimulating factors (CSF) treatment in patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML).
