Abstract
- The article presents a study on the association of the presence of pathologic features of airway remodeling in patients with asthma and steroid responsiveness in the short term. The study involves 63 patients with chronic airflow impairment and severe asthma. The result shows that 38 patients had steroid responsiveness of more than 15 percent and a thinner reticular basement membrane (RBM) at the biopsy level, as compared with nonsteroid responsive patients.
