Abstract

The article discusses a study which described a new Lepocreadiid digenenan Neodiploproctadaeum karachiensis from the intestine of the Tetradontiformes Lagocephalus linaris from Karachi coast. It is characterized by smooth, elongated body with wing-like lateral expansions at postacetabular level and subterminal oral sucker smaller than acetabulum. A total of 79 Lagocephalus lunaris from Karachi were collected for parasitological analysis in February 2006-January 2007. The new species is also known to have submarginal geniotal pore and slightly submedian ovary.
