Abstract
- In the article, several Thai Forest Masters discuss Nibbana [the extinguished, the cool]. Ajahn Sumedho cites the difficulties with the word Nibbana including being beyond the power of words to describe and being seen by Buddhists as something unobtainable, so high and so remote. Ajahn Pasanno and Ajahn Amaro also state that from a Buddhist viewpoint, the realization of Nibbana is the fulfillment of the highest human potential which exists in everybody, without regard to nationality or creed.
