Abstract

The article discusses the British court case Halford v. The United Kingdom wherein the home and office telephone calls of Alison Halford was allegedly intercepted by her employer to have information to use in her industrial tribunal claim. The European Court of Human Rights examined the claim under the Interception of Communications Act of 1985. The court reviewed the case and found out the employer violated the Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
