Abstract
- In this essay, the author compares and contrasts the literary theories of Canadian poets and literary scholars Jan Zwicky and Anne Carson, focusing particularly on the books "Lyric Philosophy" and "Wisdom & Metaphor" by Zwicky as well as Carson's "Eros the Bittersweet." It explores the competing approaches to defining and using the term lyric within their literary criticisms.
