Abstract

The article focuses on the press of Korea as of 1978. It discusses the history of Korea, including the establishment of the nation in 1948, the Korean war, and the installation of Prime Minister Myun John Chang's Democratic Party government. It relates that the Newspaper Editors Association should have established an Ethics Commission had the military coup d'etat did not arise on May 16, 1961. It states that the Korean press may be characterized as one with a political mission of leading the country to independence during the colonial period of Japan and gaining democracy following the liberation.
