The article deals with the procedure for assessment of conformity of bills with the EU law in the United Kingdom. In the British legal system, due to the principle of duality, international law (including EU law) has an impact on domestic law only through acts of national parliament. Moreover, the principle of sovereignty of parliament is applied. Bills are checked for their compliance with EU law on the government's drafting stage.
