Abstract

The University of Tuscia opened the Faculty of Political Science on 1 March 2002. The Faculty initially offered exclusively three-year courses, particularly degrees in Communication Sciences and Techniques, Communication Techniques and the Web Economy and in Public Administration Science. Subsequently, the first two were incorporated into the Communication Sciences degree course. A MA in Public and Business Communication and Advertising became available in academic year 2007/2008. During academic years 2002/2003 - 2007/2008, Massimo Ferrari Zumbini was head of the Faculty and was succeeded byMaurizio Ridolfi who remained in office until 31 October 2011. In the first academic year, there were 945 enrolments. On 31 October 2011, the Faculty Council recorded that there were 27 full-time teaching staff and that there were 1,233 enrolments. Over the years, 1,724 three-year and MA diplomas have been awarded. Teaching at the Faculty combines innovation and tradition. Lectures and examinations are held during different periods, there is a centre for student services, an updated library and there are advanced computer installations. Internships, study trips and many Erasmus projects are also available. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
