Abstract

The article discusses the study which describes the areas of bank erosion that causes heavy loss of land by Brahmaputra river at the Kaziranga National Park in Assam,India. It uses geographic informations systems (GIS to analyze sequential changes in banklines of the river and geomorphology to characterize the irver, while changes in time over spaces are measured using Sol topographic maps. It shows that the main cause of erosion at the river is the loose non-cohesive sediments of the bank.
