Abstract: The article discusses the social and psychological aspects of college residential facilities, and describes renovations at colleges such as Franklin & Marshall College, Southern Methodist University, and Michigan State University. Architect Daniel Kelley is quoted, and student retention, Elon University's neighborhood system, and school communities are discussed.
