Abstract

The article discusses the U.S. policy on Egypt. It notes the foreign policy goals of U.S. President Barack Obama in relation to U.S.-Egypt bilateral relations as well as key issues where disputes remain. It reports U.S. foreign aid to Egypt between 1948 and 2011 in terms of military and economic aid and funding for democracy promotion. Foreign aid to Egypt since February 2011, Congressional appropriations for fiscal years 2012 and 2013 and related statistics are also presented.
