Abstract

An essay is presented on a public history project conducted by students in the Senior Seminar in American History at Michigan State University (MSU) on busing and desegregation in Lansing, Michigan schools. It notes collaboration with the Capital Area District Library (CADL) in Lansing, as well as collaboration between the instructor and students. The author considers the project as an engagement with local history and explores students' experiences writing blogs and handling primary sources.
