Abstract

Flexible channel spacing for high spectral efficiency is investigated using a real-time 100GbE transponder. 40% better spectral efficiency than current 100G systems can be achieved with a 2,200-km transmission distance by reducing the channel spacing. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
