Abstract

A novel sound localization design using arrayed integrate and fire neuron circuits is discussed in this paper. This method is inspired from barn owl's unique method of locating prey. Unlike most of the existing techniques, it is computation free. System structure, experiment and simulation results, and analysis are described. A three-level hierarchical design is used to improve accuracy for a large amount without significant increase of area. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
