Abstract

A detailed operation simulation based planning alternative evaluation method of power system with large-scale wind power is proposed in this paper, since the traditional power system planning evaluation methods are not applicable because of the intermittent and uncertainty of wind power. The evaluation framework of this method is established with power system operation simulation in the chronological 8760 hours of a year. In the simulation process, daily-ahead unit commitment optimization, steady state and dynamic security constraints based economic dispatch optimization and remedial control are included, so that the accuracy of evaluation results is guaranteed. The soundness and effectiveness of this method are illustrated by an example system. At the same time, the evaluation method has been used to compare the so called “wind power & thermal power bundling” alternatives with “distributed solar power” alternatives from a long-term perspective.
