Abstract

With the development and wide application of power electronic technology, grid pollution like harmonics and reactive power is becoming aggravated. And with the increasing capacity and voltage grade of devices, traditional active power filter (APF) with 2-level structure is not suitable, because of the slow development of power electronic devices. The voltage on the switches can be reduced by APF with 3-level structure effectively with the use of switches connected in series. 3-level APF based on the time-fixed hysteresis comparison control is proposed and then tested in the three-phase three-wire system by simulation.
