Television for socialist women.

The author discusses her research on gender and socialist television beginning in the 1970s and 1980s. Commenting on the differences between western and eastern feminism, she examines the development of female identity through postfeminism and postsocialism. Particular attention is given to the cultural criticism of television, especially in Europe, of those who view it as unworthy of cultural significance.
