Abstract

The article reports on the results of a "Business Week"/ Harris Poll survey depicting the feelings of anxiety among Americans on economic conditions in the United States. The public feels negatively about unemployment, interest rates, recession and inflation. Despite the Dow's nearly 350-point increase, the vast majority of the public believes that the stock market has not gone up much, if at all in the first quarter of 1989.
