Abstract

The article focuses on a study which described the morphological features of the ovaries during previtellogenesis through vitellogenesis and ovulation of the Oriental fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis. The morphological features were assessed as markers of the physiological states of the oriental fruit fly. Study authors described the morphometrics of ovarian development in female Bactrocera dorsalis, and noted that morphometry of the ovary increased significantly between each oogenesis stage.
