Abstract

The article presents a longitudinal study on job satisfaction and burnout in a cohort group of psychiatrists from New Zealand. The study administered thre questionnaires including a socio-demographic one, the Job Diagnostic Survey (JDS), and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). It concludes that it is important to consider the aspects of job satisfaction in the development of treatments for psychiatrists who score high on burnout.
