Abstract

On page 991, Noel C. Giebink, John A. Rogers, and co‐workers exploit microscale, bifacial thin‐film GaAs solar cells embedded in luminescent substrates to double the output power under sunlight. The epitaxial liftoff and transfer printing techniques exhibit a potential for large‐scale module production. Optimal design combines a free‐standing waveguide layer with a diffuse backside reflector, delivering the highest photocurrent for microcells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
