Abstract

The author presents suggestions for fertilizing pastures that can enhance pasture forage production. He states that other than nitrogen the major minerals that are required by the livestock that may be deficient in pasture forage are calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. He suggests maintaining the calcium content in pasture which can be beneficial for lactating and growing cattle. He recommends fertilizing pastures in the beginning of August for maximizing their growth.
