Abstract

The article discusses a study which shows the use of pendant proton relays (polyprotic acids) in the direct oxygen (O<subscript>2</subscript>) on a titanium oxide (TiO<subscript>2</subscript>) surface reduction pathway. It states that benzoic acid's (BA) photocatalytic degradation rate was seen to improved after adding phosphate at similar power of hydrogen (pH) value. It adds that the role of surface pendant proton relays shown in the study may be used in the design of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).
