Abstract

The article discusses a study on the incidence of meniscus repair and meniscectomy with and without concomitant anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in the U.S. over the past seven years as of 2013. It says that meniscus deficiency may lead to degenerative arthritis in the knee. Results of the study revealed the database represented 9 percent of the U.S. population younger than 65 years. The authors report an increase in isolated meniscus repairs during the period covered.
