Abstract

We realise that we live in a constantly and rapidly changing world and understand that the impact of technology on our lives is increasing dramatically; we may be abreast of the 21st-century competencies; we may have the 21st-century technology in the classroom and various web-based instruments at our disposal; yet that alone does not make us into 21st-century teachers (Churches, 2008,). We will only be 21st-century teachers if our teaching methods follow suit. In our paper we discuss three models of teaching: "Direct", "Radical" and "Social". Our special focus is on a combination of the "Radical" and "Social" models of teaching. In addition, we present cases of how we already changed our teaching methods and how technology and web-based instruments helped us to implement our approach of mathematics. As well, we conducted different feedback tests with students and discussed the results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
