Effect of the colloids gelatin and HES 130/0.4 on blood coagulation in cardiac surgery patients: a randomized controlled trial.

The article presents a study that analyzes the effect of synthetic colloids on blood coagulation and blood loss on patients who underwent on-pump coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures. The study was conducted among six selected CABG patients administered with Ringer's solution mixed with hydroxyethyl starch. The results of the study show that there is no significant differentce in blood loss or blood coagulation in adults after on-pump CABG procedures.
