Abstract

This publication focuses on the political and macroeconomic outlook for Central America as of December 2013. The issues examined include the forecast for the 2013 real gross domestic product (GDP) of Costa Rica, the impact of political reforms in El Salvador on its political risk, how weak exports have led to a shortfall in Panama, and the deteriorating payments outlook for Nicaragua.
