Abstract
- The article focuses on closed-end public bond funds as of March 1973. It discusses the flight of money from mutual funds into these bond funds starting in the late 1970 such as from American General Life Insurance Co. and other insurance companies, BankAmerica Corp's Montgomery Street Income Securities fund and Lehman Bros.' MassMutual Income Investors fund. It examines risks from bond funds, underwriting costs and fund gimmick called "collateralized securities lending."
