Abstract
- The article looks at the business of London, Great Britain-based book publisher Penguin Publishing Co. as of November 8, 1976, with attention paid to Peter Mayer, Penguin's chief executive officer (CEO) and the company's U.S. subsidiary, Viking Penguin. The article discusses a marketing campaign aiming to popularize the company that started to decline when in 1970 its founder Allen Lane passed away.
