Abstract
- The article presents a study which assessed the ratio of serum eicosapentaenoic acid to arachidonic acid (EPA/AA) and its correlation with renal impairment and diabetic macroangiopathies in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. It also cites the diabetic risk factors including age, sex and smoking history. Based on the results, a lower serum EPA/AA ratio is linked with coronary heart disease and renal impairment in older patients with diabetes.
